Jerry Philpott has been representing clients in Perry County for almost 25 years, and is very well regarded by the judges and lawyers in the area. He has handled a wide range of matters that include most, if not all, of the legal problems that people commonly encounter: criminal defense, bankruptcy, divorce, custody, wills, estates, real estate, land use, general civil litigation, and business issues. He has tried large cases and small, and enjoys helping members of the community in need of help. He is well known for his work representing the defendants in the infamous “Appalachian Trail Murder” death penalty case and the “Torso Murder” retrial, which he won. He has also served as the solicitor for several townships, a school district, and municipal agencies. Mr. Philpott’s years of experience and no-nonsense approach benefit clients enormously, enabling him to provide efficient and effective representation.
A native of California, Mr. Philpott went to Santa Clara Law School, where he edited the Law Review and competed
in the national moot court competition. After graduating near the top of his class from law school, Mr. Philpott moved with his
wife and family to the Washington, D.C. area, where he worked as a trial attorney for the Federal Trade Commission. He spent 15
years litigating large, complex antitrust suits for the government. |

Jennifer Philpott Wilson brings her considerable litigation and courtroom skills to bear in every area of practice that Philpott Wilson LLP handles. Because of Ms. Wilson’s background in tax litigation, the firm is adding the new practice area of tax disputes. Ms. Wilson is eager to work with clients to help solve legal problems as efficiently as possible.
After graduating from Swarthmore College outside Philadelphia, and working as a paralegal with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Wilson attended Brooklyn Law School in New York. She served on the Law Review and was president of moot court, and then graduated at the top of her class. After graduating from law school, she clerked for a U.S. District Court judge in Memphis, Tennessee, and for a Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals judge in Newark, New Jersey. After that valuable trial and appellate court clerking experience, Ms. Wilson launched into trial work as an associate at a large New York law firm, Chadbourne & Parke, LLP, working on product liability litigation. Ms. Wilson then spent four years defending the United States in tax refund litigation as a trial attorney for the Department of Justice Tax Division.
